Question: Are vaccine certificates required for hotels in Australia? 

Answer: Sometimes. It depends on which state your hotel is in. And in some cases, the government is still deciding.

Each Australian State has a different requirement. And some are still deciding what to do. This is what we know so far (changes are being made daily so check back regularly).

Customers are not required to provide proof of vaccination or medical exemption in order to enter your business.

However, the vaccination requirements that apply to food and drink premises, physical recreation premises, and entertainment and function premises apply to those venues even when they are located within an accommodation premises. This means that a patron who is not fully vaccinated, whether or not they are staying at the accommodation premises, must not access these premises unless they have a valid medical exemption. For example, if a patron is not fully vaccinated, they must not be permitted to access to restaurants for seated dining within the premises.

Customers may be required to provide proof of vaccination or medical exemption in order to enter your business.

Data privacy is important. Especially when it comes to data records of medical information like vaccine certificates. We suggest you use your State’s official tools when scanning and recording this information for guests (links found below).
